$190,000 for Slip & Fall in Grocery Store
Our client had gone to her grocery store early in the morning to purchase coffee. As she walked down the aisle, she slipped on cleaning solution that had been left behind by the man who had buffed the floor that morning and landed on her knee. She required physical therapy and three surgeries over the course of about two years to rehabilitate the knee.
As in all slip & fall cases, liability was disputed, but we were able to locate a former employee who told us, in deposition, that the store had had problems with the cleaning people before that day and that the machines they used constantly left fluid behind. No warning sign had been posted that morning.
